Career Guidance Programme
Vaels International School recognises that career readiness begins with self-awareness. The school's career guidance programme equips students with evidence-based tools to understand their personality, interests, and natural strengths — and to translate that understanding into a clear academic and professional direction.
Three internationally recognised psychometric assessments are conducted individually, followed by structured counselling sessions that guide each student through pathway planning and university application preparation. Career guidance begins from Grade 9 at the Injambakkam High School campus.
Assessment Tools
Three evidence-based frameworks are used to map each student's personality, vocational interests, and intelligences — forming the foundation of personalised career guidance.
Holland's Theory of Career Choice
Identifies six personality types to help students understand their career aspirations and professional potential. Each type represents a distinct way of relating to the world of work.
RIASEC Interest Scale Inventory
Building on Holland's theory, this assessment uses the same six personality-environment descriptors to help students explore their vocational interests and understand how their personality aligns with different career paths.
Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences
Evaluates eight distinct intelligences, shifting the question from 'How intelligent am I?' to 'How am I smart?' — helping students discover and build on their natural strengths.
Guidance Journey
Career guidance and psychometric assessments are conducted from Grade 9 onwards at the Injambakkam High School campus.
Psychometric Assessment
Students complete three evidence-based assessments — Holland's Personality Test, the RIASEC Interest Scale, and Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence Test.
Assessment Interpretation
Results are reviewed by the school's career counsellor to identify patterns across personality, vocational interests, and intelligence profiles.
Individual Counselling Session
A one-to-one counselling session is conducted in a safe, non-judgmental, and respectful environment. Students explore career interests, personality traits, and behavioural patterns with personalised guidance.
Career Pathway Planning
Students work with their counsellor to identify a career direction and plan the academic choices, subjects, and skills development needed to achieve their goals.
Resume & University Profile Preparation
Students are guided in building resumes and profiles that meet the demands of universities across India and abroad, preparing them for competitive applications.
